Process Automation Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Design engineering systems including PLC (Programable Logic Controller)/DCS (Distributed Control Systems)/SCADA for the automation of industrial tasks related to offshore Oil and Gas industry.
- Perform system’s programming, configuration and field trouble-shooting of DCS and SIS during project phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up in Gas to Liquid conversion plants.
- Design, program, calibrate and field-control and instrumentation products installed at process facilities.
- Participate in project cycle: conception, kick off meetings, design meetings, engineering, commissioning, and simulation testing (FAT/ SAT) to startup & maintenance.
- System optimization in offshore oil and gas process systems design, engineering of well head mechanical pneumatic control panels integrated with plant HMIs (Human Machine Interface).
- Conduct pipeline and process solutions development through instrumentation loop testing field experience.
- System upgrades of obsolete and discontinued PLC/DCS hardware.
- Project execution for offshore plant automation system.
- Participation in technical bid processes.
- Work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate activities between sales, engineering, fabrication, subcontractors, and customer.
- Utilize defined change control procedures. Coordinate installation, testing, and start-up activities at the customer site. Support delivery of control engineering related queries.
- Conduct defect elimination and continuous improvement to support oil production forecast in production facilities.
- Provide support to control engineering challengers and exhibits execution readiness.
- Ensure projects meet conformance and regulatory requirements in design by providing input into OMS gap assessment.
- Conduct risk assessment and long-term area engineering studies e.g. HAZOP’s, LOPAs etc. where required.

REQUIREMENT:

- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related. Requires 9 months of experience with designing Scada HMI’s using software of Wonderware InTouch, RSVIEW SE, PanelBuilder , Cimplicity.
- Requires 12 months of experience with PLC Systems of Control Logix, PLC-5, GE FANUC, and Siemens S7.
- Requires 22 months of experience with designing and programming on DCS Systems of Yokogawa CS3000, Centum VP, SIEMENS PCS 7 & Moore APACS.
- Requires 10 months of experience with designing programming and offshore installation on SIS Safety systems of Prosafe-RS, Moore QUADLOG.
- Requires 7 months of experience with Network protocols of OPC, Ethernet, Modbus, DH+, Mnet/Mbus, Vnet, FieldBus, VNET/IP, RS232/485, Modbus+.
- Requires 8 months of experience with alarm Management by reviewing associated process KPI data e.g. alarm system metrics, control loop.
